Food4Patriots – Is This The Perfect Long Term Food?

When I started doing research for both food to take backpacking and also food that I can store in my pantry as an emergency back up food plan, there were quite a few options.

Of course we have all heard of Mountain House and even Wise Food Company. I have tried both of these and they are both good in their own right – but for me and my family, we prefer Food 4 Patriots from 4Patriots Survival Food (source: It just tastes better to us, and we also like the message that it provides by supporting our veterans.

As you can see in the video above – I actually cooked and ate all three types of meals in the 72 hour kit – and both my family and myself really enjoyed both the ease of cooking and also the taste. I was expecting it to taste kind of like other dehydrated food – but this was much more juicy and flavorful than I was expecting.

In fact, I thought I would have to force my kids to eat it – instead I had to convince them not to eat it all at once! Yes it is that good. But don’t take my word on that – try it yourself.

The Peruvian Brew System – Does It Work?

I have to admit. When I first saw advertisements for The Peruvian Brew, I was sceptical.

I didn’t necessarily believe it was a scam, but I also wasn’t sure that a few herb and fruit extracts and an amino acid would actually help my mild (and intermittent) erectile dysfunction.

But I had heard enough reviews and customer testimonials that I had to give a try for myself.

Anyways, I followed the instructions and mixed a scoop of the powder with 8 ounces of water. It mixed quickly and went down smoothly. It didn’t taste bad, in fact, it tasted great.

So after I drank it, I was surprised when after a few minutes I started feeling a tingling sensation and noticed myself starting to become aroused. It actually was working.

Unfortunately, my girlfriend was not around so I had to waste this one… but I invited her over the next day and let her in on my experiment. She was very supportive and actually excited to try it out with me.

Let’s just say she has told me that I am going to be re-ordering this as soon as we start to get low.

So earlier I posted about Wise Company Food, but I have to say I think I found a better product for those looking for freeze dried food. I am starting to grow my cache of long term food storage and after tasting this product from Mountain House, I am a believer. Watch this video for a review I found of Mountain House:

Combine Spartagen XT And Exercise To Increase Natural Testosterone Levels

Testosterone in men is very important. It’s more then just having a nice body or looking good. It’s about increasing the muscle mass and density. It’s also about increasing the bone mass and density. There is an old saying, “you want to feel like a man, lift something heavy.” This might sound a bit crass, but there is some truth to it. You can do one of two things:

1) Low reps with high weights
2) High reps with lower weights

It doesn’t matter what direction you go, both will work for you. If you want higher levels, the heavier weights will work out better for you. You can also get into the full body workouts. Things like squats and bench presses are also good for raising these levels. Just be careful at how much you do; again, talk to a professional. There is such a thing as overdoing it.

If you really want positive results, 2-3 sessions a week is better. You need to do 2-3 full body sessions to really boost the levels. You need to make an impact. You have to really put in the effort with this; otherwise, it’s not going to work.

Have Adequate Rest Periods

The idea is not to push yourself to the brink. Yes, pain is gain. The idea is not to wear yourself out. If you do, it won’t work either. When you are between your sets, spend about 2 minutes resting. This will actually help to improve your levels. The shorter rest periods are better for building growth hormones.

If you don’t want to waste time during your 2-3 minutes rest sessions, use your muscles. Do some simple stretching and things of this nature. This way your muscles stay limber. You also won’t stress the muscles you have worked out as much.

Combine Other Repetition Focused Workouts

You can also do something called “forced reps.” Some of you may not know what I’m talking about, so I will both explain and show a video below. Forced reps is when you do as many reps as you can in a row. If you can do 20-30 reps in a row, do it. Once you finish this, you get your partner to spot you for the finishing reps. This might sound too intense for some of you. If it is, simply try some of the above things. The forced rep sessions are only for those who are really experienced in their gym workouts.

It’s also best to warm up before doing these. Do something like barbell squats. Never do the forced rep sessions without properly warming up. If you do, you will only be hurting your body.

Be Sure To Include Leg Workouts

Some of you might not see the benefit to this, but there are many. Including the legs with your upper body is proving to be very beneficial. Try doing some squats and lunges while lifting with your arms.

Running Is Not Always The Best Medicine

There are many who like to do go on long runs. Relying on cardio all the time is bad. It’s not bad in the sense that you won’t be healthy. It’s bad in the sense that your levels will be lower. If you can, switch up your days.

Should We Be Concerned With Long Term Food Storage?

Lately, my family and I have been talking about our needs for long term storage? While it is critical to source your food from places you know and trust, what you do with that food is something that we have not explored enough.

So I am writing this to start the conversation about how to store our food in case of a natural disaster or other emergency situation.

Now we don’t consider ourselves to preppers or even paranoid about the likely hood of anything happening that would require us to use our stored food.

But being a boyscout, my motto is always be prepared (wait does that make me a prepper – lol)!

So we did our research and after watching a ton of videos and reading various reviews all over the Internet, we decided to invest in Wise Company long term food storage kits.

These plastic bins come loaded with meals that only require warm or boiling water and can last literally for years in our cool basement.

And if you are wondering how the food tastes, I have to say I rather enjoy it. It’s made from very high quality ingredients and you can tell they didn’t skim on flavor. My wife doesn’t enjoy them as much as I do, but I actually would eat them a lot more, but my wife insists we save them.

I can tell you this, if it was a disaster or emergency situation – you would have no trouble at all staying full and satisfied if these were your only source of food.

What Kind Of Nutrition Is Optimal For Men In Their 40s

I was recently emailed from a friend what he should be doing to get back in shape after 40. Being a 40 year old guy myself, this question is pretty important to me.

So let’s get started.

1. You want to avoid sugary food. Sugar is just empty calories.

2. Do not, I mean ever, eat fast food. It is just bad for you.

3. Do not snack after 8pm. After 8, drink water only.

4. Drink coffee and green tea in the morning.

5. Eat LOT’s of vegetables. Seriously. They fill you up and are great for you, but have almost no calories.

6. Try to exercise in some form every day. Do anything, just do something.

That’s it. Try it.
